Case of the Month, Head and Neck

57-Yearold female with history of ruptured aneurysm, subarachnoid hemorrhage, status post aneurysm clipping and shunt placement. The top left image shows the opening in the skull from the initial surgery and the top right image shows the implanted plate covering up the opening. Both images also demonstrate the position of the shunt. The dotted red line in the bottom left image shows the patient’s midline shift and the bottom right image shows the normal midline in a different patient. Stanford 3DQ Lab technologists utilize advanced computer software to demonstrate the pathology and position of the shunt in order to provide valuable information to the physicians and surgeons.
